"ComponentInUse" message when trying to update component backed by a Master Component

I have a component that's backed by a Master Component that uses the EC-Maven plugin for the artifact source. I want to use the DSL to convert this to another type of MC I've defined that pulls from the EC Repo.

I am attempting to issue a "deleteComponent" dsl command, followed by a definition for the new component. When I run the command in the DSL IDE, I get the following message:

At line 1: ComponentInUse: Component 'component 'num-search-rest'' is in use and cannot be deleted Line 0001: DSL method 'deleteComponent' Line 0001: Invoking 'deleteComponent' with

How do I go about updating/modifying an existing component that is backed by a Master Component?

args {componentName=num-search-rest, projectName=TFNR_T1D2, applicationName=TFNR_T1D2_CI}

Looks like your EC-Maven based master component is referenced in some application component. Please remove the referencing component first.

I'm not trying to remove the master component, I'm trying to remove the referencing component - that's why this is frustrating.

I have a component in a tier that uses MC_A and I want to change it so that it uses MC_B. I'm trying to issue a deleteComponent call before it hits the definition for the revised component.

the only thing I've found to work so far is removing the delete call, manually deleting the component, and then running the dsl to add the new component definition.

Is the component added to an application tier ? You will need two calls:

1) removeComponentFromApplicationTier","parameters":{"projectName":"projectname","componentName":"componentName","applicationName":"applicationName", "applicationTierName":"applicationTierName"}

2) deleteComponent

Ah! I see - so removeComponentFromApplicationTier is what I needed. Thank you!
